The Lynne Cohen High Risk Clinic at Bellevue Hospital Center, NYU
Cancer Institute
In this program, we make a special effort to provide excellent medical
care to uninsured, underserved minority women from communities that
have traditionally had fewer medical services available. This is a clinical
care/research program for family members of women who have been diagnosed
with breast and/or ovarian cancer, and for the women themselves.
Each of these diagnoses puts the individual woman as well as her family
members at increased risk. Participants
receive both breast and gynecologic exams and screenings; genetic
counseling; lifestyle counseling; educational tools; and access
to the latest early detection and prevention trials for women’s
cancers. Our goal is to ensure that every woman who participates
benefits by feeling more in charge of her health concerns and better
prepared for her future.
